Along beside the water from Virpazar to Rijeka Crnojevica

We took a left turn from Virpazar, along a narrow little road with its embankments overgrown with weeds. The road led towards Rijeka Crnojevica, as it said on the hand-written signpost. Slightly suspiciously we began the climb looking towards Virpazar and Crmnica. ImageImage After about tens minutes of relaxing driving through dense woodlands, along a path ideal for bicycle lovers, a view of the lake suddenly opened up before us again, and we felt a fantastic sensation of complete peace and harmony. For kilometer after kilometer no one to be seen. Just nature in all her splendor. ImageImageJust then from round one of the numerous bends the first sign of civilization appeared, a little village on the edge of the lake, beautiful old stone houses and vineyards.

ImageImageThen once again woodlands, the road and just us. We kept stopping for a few moments to switch of the motor and listen in silence to nature. Then the lake again.

ImageThe wind blew gently, bringing the breath of fresh air which was so needed.

ImageThen once more, villages, vineyards, water, domestic animals...

ImageImageImageAnd then, the bridges. We found you, old capital. Rijeka Crnojevica.

ImageImageWe took a short walk along the beautiful river bank.

ImageImageThen we set off back home. Stopping just once more to look back at the river and the lake. ImageOn the way back we stood on a cliff, watching the amazing mountains take their leave of the sun.
