one of the oldest settlements in the Bay, with numerous stories and legends about the famous Teuta, the Illyrian queen, who in times long past had her court in the town, Roman mosaics and the frightening Sopot which was empty and quiet as your reporters passed through, but which can in moments of greatest anger splash right over the road.
Now, as so many times before, the islands of Perast and their reflections
made a deep impression on us.
We then arrived at the palace of the Bujovic's, now the town museum of
Perast
at one time the summer home of a famous Perast family. We saw the busts of
Marko Martinovic, Andrija Zmajevic and Tripo Kokolj, three famous Perast
men. Today their busts look out from the main square towards the endless
sea from where this pearl of a town has for centuries drawn its energy and
its wealth.
And then we came to Kotor, whose
beauties have been sung and painted by many both known and unknown. Kotor
sparkled in these morning hours with its walls,
its old town,
churches,
steps,
gateways, and
cheerful inhabitants....
