Njeguši

Njeguši is a mountain village perched between Mount Lovćen and the Bay of Kotor, renowned as the birthplace of the Petrović-Njegoš dynasty that ruled Montenegro for centuries. The village is equally famous for its culinary traditions, producing Montenegro's finest smoked ham (njeguški pršut) and handmade cheese, cured in the mountain air. Visitors pass through on the historic road between Kotor and Cetinje, stopping to sample local delicacies at family-run roadside stalls with sweeping views over the bay below.
