Hotel Amfora - Orahovac

The hotel Amfora has an interesting story to tell. Located in the pretty little fishing village of Orahovac, close by Kotor and Perast, it derives its name from the amphorae, unusual earthenware vessels used for keeping oil, wine and wheat in the 1st and 2nd centuries BC. They were made by hand in Italy and Greece and later in Dalmatia, and were and still remained a type of safe for valuables. Fishermen and divers still find them today as exciting evidence of life in ancient times.


The Hotel Amfora was built in 2006 to the highest standards. The Hotel has 12 apartments (6 L apartments (2+1) and 6 XL apartments (2+2) with terrace, and views of sea and mountains. Amfora has its own restaurant, bar and mini wellness centre, terrace and car parking. Guests may use the beach with sun-loungers and sunshades in front of the hotel. All apartments are luxuriously appointed – with air-conditioning, digital satellite TV, ADSL internet, mini bar, safe etc.

The Hotel Amfora is at Orahovac in the Bay of Kotor. It is built right on the seashore with a view of the bay. The hotel is close to the Old Town of Kotor one of the most well-known towns in the Mediterranean, included in the UNESCO world natural and cultural heritage list.
The village of Orahovac is known for the large number of sunny days, clean sea, its shell-fish and fish nurseries, its fishermen and four hundred year old oak tree. The place is well served by local transport in the directions of Kotor and Herceg Novi. Orahovac is 20 km from Tivat airport, 70 km from the port of Bar, 50 km from Dubrovnik Cilipi Airport, and 100 km from Podgorica.
